By installing or using Connect, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use Connect for an organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.
Terms of use
Use Connect carefully and with authorized data.
Effective August 1, 2026. These terms apply to cloakshift.ai and the CloakShift Connect subscription.
Agreement
The basic rules.
Authorized information only
Use Connect only with prompts, files, accounts, and information you are authorized to process and send to a supported AI service.
Access license
An active paid or owner-issued complimentary Connect subscription gives you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal or internal business use on up to two computers. Complimentary access ends automatically on its scheduled date. Activation uses a passwordless code sent to the account email. Activating a third computer replaces the least recently used registered computer. Do not resell, publish, distribute, or bypass access controls.
Early Supporter price, renewal, and cancellation
The Early Supporter subscription costs $9.99 USD per month and renews automatically until canceled. That price remains available while the subscription stays continuously active. If the subscription ends and you return later, the then-current public price applies. Stripe processes checkout and provides subscription management. A valid owner-issued complimentary code applies a 100% discount, does not request a payment method, and schedules the subscription to end without renewal. The installed helper checks subscription access about once per day. Cancel paid access before the next renewal to avoid the next monthly charge; access ends when the subscription period ends. Except where law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Early Supporter benefits
Early Supporters may send recommendations directly to the CloakShift team and may receive optional private access to selected features before public release. Early-access features are experimental, may change, and may be removed before public release.

Review remains your responsibility.
Detection limits
Automatic detection can miss private values, context, metadata, or unusual file content. You must inspect protected output before sending sensitive work.
AI service terms still apply
Protected content sent through a supported AI service remains subject to that service's terms, privacy choices, retention, availability, and acceptable-use requirements.
Restoration limits
An AI can remove or alter aliases. Connect may be unable to restore values when a reliable token or alias no longer survives in the response.
No compliance certification
Connect is a privacy aid, not legal advice, a security audit, a compliance certification, or a substitute for organizational controls and professional review.
Software limitations

As-is software
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Connect is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, complete detection, complete restoration, fitness for a particular purpose, or continued compatibility.
Backups and security
You are responsible for securing your Windows PC or Mac, browser, AI account, local data, vaults, keys, and backups. Start with fictional data and keep recovery copies of important source files.
Prohibited conduct
Do not use Connect unlawfully; infringe rights; distribute malware; attack the product or services; steal credentials; evade access controls; or conceal prohibited activity.
Feedback
If you voluntarily provide feedback, you permit us to use it to improve the product without obligation. We will not identify you publicly without permission.
